"Wisher" and "Dreamer"

Wishers and Dreamers Inc. was founded by two sisters, Pamela and Trish. The name, "Wishers and Dreamers", originated as the sisters' childhood nicknames. As children, Pamela called Trish "Wish" because it rhymed. The name "Wish" eventually turned into "Wisher". When Pamela called her sister "Wisher", Trish would respond by calling Pamela "Dreamer". Still to this day, they fondly use the nicknames "Wisher" and "Dreamer".

Trish was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and fought the disease for two years before defeating it. During her battle, she witnessed children also battling from various illnesses. Together, Trish and Pamela founded Wishers and Dreamers to provide comfort, encouragement, and smiles to children under constant medical supervision.

2010 - Trish was diagnosed with breast cancer
2013 - After a long battle, Trish was ruled cancer free
July 2013 - Wishers and Dreamers was founded

Our Mission

We know that many children spend their time in hospitals, clinics, and germ free environments. Many children with disease, illness, or a disabling medical condition are unable to play outside. Their doll or bear may be their best friend. Therefore, our mission is to provide, free-of-charge*, a hospital gown for their doll, bear, or little buddy. All gowns are handmade with love by the Wishers and Dreamers, family, and friends.

Wishers and Dreamers Sewing Team

We can only accomplish all that we do through our amazing network of skilled volunteers. It truly is a team effort! One volunteer group, “Sewing with Heart” senior sewing group, located in Irvine, CA, has been sewing  gowns for Wishers and Dreamers from the beginning. They generously volunteer their time and skills. The Sewing with Heart team has made over 600 gowns for children all over the world.

Many other individual and group volunteers have worked diligently to hand-craft gowns, tailored to our children's (and their family's) request for a special gown. Please visit our Wishers and Dreamers Facebook Page where we love to showcase many of our wonderful volunteers. Are you interested in learning more about volunteering for Wishers and Dreamers?

Two Sisters, One Vision

The Wisher
Trish Stuber, Co-Founder
Trish was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She battled cancer for about two years -- and won!

During her battle with cancer, Trish received a lot of support from family and friends. Being a cancer survivor, she wanted to give back and support others battling the criminal we call cancer.
The Dreamer
Pamela Babek, Co-Founder
During Trish's battle with breast cancer, Pamela recognized the struggle cancer patients go through on a daily basis, and wanted to help by giving them something that would symbolize joy and encouragement. Pamela's passion for children led her to focus on helping children with cancer. Pamela soon recognized there were many other forms of illness children were suffering from. With the help and support of Trish, Wishers and Dreamers was founded.
